Assessment Services
The first step in the security process is analyzing the current state of the network. MIS uses two stringent security standards when doing assessments: the NSA/IAM Methodology and ISO17799. Using the results of these assessments, determinations can be made about which areas need to be addressed.
The NSA/IAM Methodology is a standard issued by the National Security Agency to provide guidelines for assessing the current state of network security. The assessment is conducted by a team of individuals who review the information system posture of a specified operational system for the purpose of identifying and recommending actions needed to eliminate potential vulnerabilities.
NSA/IAM approaches network security, in part, by analyzing what data the network uses and establishes a hierarchy of importance for that data so resources are most effectively deployed.
ISO17799 is the most widely recognized security standard in the world. A BS7799 assessment comprehensively reviews your network's security posture, starting with a formal risk assessment.
By utilizing both standards, MIS can provide a comprehensive security assessment which can be used as an effective tool for enhancing the security of your network.
